Stop “Dis-ing” and Start Nurturing Our Children’s Abilities
By Marquis Bey
We have limited time in this life; we want to make the best of this life and make as many memories as possible that we can. I have children who I adore and will do anything for that is in my power for them to be all that God wants them to be. Fact is my children have disabilities and abilities like everyone else in the world. My children have been classified as ADHD, which most people see as a disability.

God has played a major part in their lives by giving my children other abilities to compensate very similar to a person losing his or her sight but the ability to hear increases 10 times more. This has turned me into an Uber driver most of the week with practices, games, and tournaments. God has given each of my children gifts that have to be fed and nurtured on a daily basis, if they are going reach their full potential and become the individuals that Gods wants them to be.
As a parent, I have a role to play which should be aligned with the divine. No matter the world around us, we owe it to God, Family, ourselves, our community, and the world, to work in our God-given abilities, as we only have so many summers left.
